To kick the look up a notch, you can easily use different colors of warp to add some design. If it is a lot of design you are trying to accomplish, then the four harness loom will be your best investment. They are very versatile to make some beautiful patterned rugs.

Floor looms for rugs come in different sizes, but most commonly are found to make up to a 36" wide rug. Specialty looms come in all different sizes. My favorite loom made a 26" wide rug. They are the perfect size to wash in your own laundry machine without damaging the rug.

They are getting harder and harder to find because vintage collectors are snapping them up. Also new generation weavers find they can turn grandma's loom into some serious bread money. Depending on your location, hand woven items sell for a nice amount of money.
If you are looking for an old loom, you will find one very quickly on Ebay. If you are looking for a new loom that you do not have to repair it is also a good place to look. Shipping is not an issue as you will also pay shipping from any company, and nowadays a few are even adding on surcharges they don't tell you about up front. What the Ebay seller quotes is all the seller can charge. If you are close enough to pick it up, they normally don't mind.
