Table top looms are convenient for small spaces and have improved greatly over the few years.  There is less slippage on the table as you beat your yarns or fabrics.  They are also easy to put away when your project is completed.

I believe one of the finer table top models is the Kombo 40, which is from the Louet Company.  The Kombo folds flat to a convenient 6" for ease of storage or moving your Kombo around to workshops or packing in a car take to shows etc..  All you need to decide is the weaving width you would like your project to be.  It will go from: 40cm (16 inch) or 70 cm (28 inch). You can continue to build with a four shaft extension kit to go from the original four harness to an eight harness loom.
You can even add a floor stand and make it a floor loom.
All Louët looms come with string heddles and tie-up cords, which allow for a quiet operation and very easy tie-ups.

Either the model Kombo 40 or Kombo 70 from Louet would be a good choice for a table model loom.

Unfortunetly they are hard to find.  I have only seen the Kombo 40 at Red Barn Farm, at a good price.
